Every December we help you count down the days 'til Christmas by posting a photo of a bearded man each day. You'll get to know a bit about the bearded man as he shares his beard journey and answers a question or two.

Who are they?

The bearded men who are featured in this unique Christmas countdown are friends, acquaintances, and strangers to the founder of The Beard Advent. She likes to hear the stories of their beard journey and wants to share those stories with you - whether she's known them for a long time or is meeting the bearded man for the first time.

Where are they From?

The bearded men are mostly from Atlantic Canada with a focus in the Halifax, NS region. Although many are from the Halifax area, if the founder sees a great beard while travelling, she will ask for a photo which usually leads to a great conversation about beards. In the past she's fetaured beards from across Canada and Europe.

Who is it for?

The Beard Advent is for anyone who wants to show off their beard. It's for anyone who likes beards whether they have one or not. It's for the person who doesn't feel like they have an advent calendar just for them. It's for the person who has a bearded man in their life and they want to show them the love by liking and sharing the bearded mans photo on social media. Really, this is for anyone!

Who Takes the Photos?

Most of the photos in The Beard Advent are taken by the founder, Erin. As a beard lover she likes to capture all types of beards. She recognizes that everyone has different preferences in beard growth and in beard viewing. She encourages all full beards, whether at the scruff or fluff or anything in between stage. On occasion when it's not possible to met the bearded man in person she has accepted photos taken by other people.
